“Tragedy at a church wedding”
Indeed humanity shall never cease to be entertainers of itself. Human life is occupied by social, economic and political interaction. All in all, the wild chase for money is the source of major conflicts. Why dont you recall the simplistic tounguetwister that goes God made money man made money money made man to be mad!
No one would ever want to imagine that the long term tough bond of friendship between Johnny and Thaddieus would ever cease to be. As youthful teenagers the two had schooled together in the upcountry. The learnt at the prestigious “Masakhandia” mixed public primary school. Its physical location is in the Western parts of the Waugwana Democratic republic. A nation that is standing on its own after long years of neocolonialism. However their post primary school Education was in Jiji Kuu; the capital city of Waungwana Democratic republic, where they lived henceforth. They were always together only to part ways concentrating on the tedious job search mission. Despite their being apart, they met regularly.
Thaddies being tall in stature with gigantic body size, landed a bouncers job at Soreto Members Club; areknowned pub in the city. His couterpart was a shop attendant at Mwananchi Wholesalers located few miles away from the famous pub. Pending the babaric nature of of his new assignment, Thaddieus was indeed too cruel. As a bouncer he occassionaly beat up his inmates at the pub and even snatched away their lovers. Unfortunately his faithful comrade; Johnny often fall victim ofhis barbaric acts. Their friendship deteroriated as he silently beared a grudge against him. He had always thought of a lasting memorable revenge to treat his daring friend with, in “appreciation” of his deeds. “This Thaddieus has always let me down. One good day….!” he heartifully declared but could not withstand the bloat of anger that blocked his already dry throat stealing away his wortds.
Two years down the line, Thaddieus had rejected his bad job and devoted to being a servant of God in his Kingdom on Earth. He was a stern follower of Great Miracles Ministries of The Mordern Gospel Suitable For Africa Chuech (GMMGASC) where he had once shown his former longterm friend. By now being a newly born again christian, He was almost through with his wedding plans. He had made adecision to settle down in a God fearing Family. Indeed time was ripe for him. Obviously, their source of conflict with his friend had been the fact that he made good cash which he used to cheaply entice the feminine generation at the cost of his foes.
Back at his home, Johnny had sank leisurely in his posh couch. He gazed at the grey-faced screen resting agelessly on the wall unit across the sitting room. Atleast his life was a decent one. The wedding invitation card lay untampered with on the smartly decorated table. His face gleamed brightly in the bright bulb light. He was too happy and appeared totally relieved. In his mind he thought “now i have Thaddieus tightly grasped in my hand. He thought he was too smart but its my time to prove my smartness high and above his average minds. So…” Just before proceeding on he quickly streched his hand and picked the card to confirm the dates. “This weekend!” He exclaimed with bewilderment. Long before this day, he had tailor ordered a brand new velvet green American suit. He matched it with golden sharp-pointed brown shoes; under the soles, thick metallic spikes were well fixed. He had chosen them exploring his intentions.
The big day knocked in style and the modern looking GMMSAC church was colourfully arrayed for the days function. As he arrived intentionally late, He skipped in through the backdoor and resorted to a far corner back seat. He sat there, his face burning with anticipation. The building was packed to capacity and thge ceremony was almost quarterway. He was quick to locate his target; the bridegroom seated next to the bride at the frontmost platform. It appeared as if the proffessional Archtect who planned the building had Johnnys plans in mind. It was a huge towering structure with a huge backdoor and two exits on eithersides of the front side next to the podium. At the top, They were both neatly inscribed EXIT in bold and upper case. The back door was labelled MAIN ENTRANCE. An aisle separated the congregation; ladies from Men in their sitting positions,
The costly magnificent wedding cake lay towering at the table like the biblical tower of Babylon. Major events were over and the chief preacher took over to unite the young couples. To commence with, he read the expected vows finalising with “what God has put together no man shall lay a sunder” The couples stood facing each other infront of him like two well dressed scarecrows. “Before the final unioun, any woman against this marriage?” He querried and waited anxiously for a three minutes of no response. “Once again any man who feels that our bridegroom and the bride should not walk down the aisle”. No sooner had he paused for response than the Jealous Johnny sprang into his mission, Right from the back, he followed the wide aisle with the confidence of a warrior headed for a battle field. His shoes interacted with the floor noisly. The sound was so disgusting that every face turned back with wide spread anticipation. Our man; Johnny did not blink an eye, neither was he in any hurry. Walking at a relaxed pace, he made his way towards the front of the surprised congregation. From a distance, he snatched a birds view glance at his target. He was evidently unease and a big frown had just occupied a bigger share of his face. He sat turning restlessly on his couch as if pressed by a call of nature. In his heart he should have felt like skinning this guy alive. The congregation stared edlessly with breaths held in fear. Anxiety showed on their faces. The atmosphere showed the worst was just about to happen. Our poor preacher once a pack of humour had gone deaf for words. The serious faced Johnny on advancing to the front row gazed at the preacher as if seeking permission and turned left headed for the exit leaving everyone bursting with amazement.
Away from the comedy arena our Hero knew he had caught his target pants down. He thought over it in mind. Then he felt the fear of alegal assault but then dismissed it with a self talk ” I will stand tall in this. Whoever planned the building was not afool enough to strategize an entrace and an exit. Where on Planet Earth do people use an Entrance for an exit? ” He concluded with a rhetorical.
